Physiotherapists demanding a council like MCI
Today a meeting is held in support of the formation of Indian council for the physiotherapist in city park,Bokaro by the physiotherapist of Bokaro. In meeting physiotherapist said that members of Indian association of physiotherapists (IAP) today launched indefinite strike at Jantar Mantar (Delhi) demanding a independent central council to regulate the profession and we support them.
They said there is no council, on the lines of Medical Council Of India (MCI) and the Dental Council Of India, to took into professional issues, even though physiotherapy course started in India in 1953. The formation of Central Physiotherapy Council will standardise the profession, practice and education. It will also regularise the system of registration, recognition, standard and quality of education in physiotherapy and will be able to check unprofessional practice/quackery.
